My inspiration for the design of Grimm's Fairy Tales was a combination of vintage paintings and stained glass. I chose to reference The Frog Prince in my cover illustrations.
After researching appropriate typefaces for this publication, I selected Acuta as my body copy. It was important to consider the amount of content and establish a stylistic hierarchy. Readability, appropriate type size, line spacing and line length were all taken into consideration. Objectives for this project included working with style sheets and master pages, setting up a one column typographic and baseline grid, importing large amount of text and use a self-publishing site for print.
